Thanks for the link to the article. <br /><br />I've seen the same thing play out in athletic departments across the country (Murray Sperber terms it the "athletics arms race) in his book "Beer & Circus"), but I hadn't ever thought about it from an academic standpoint. <br /><br />In some ways, I see the same thing happening w/ BYU & BYU-Idaho. Most LDS students see BYU as more prestigious and pay more for their education in Provo than they would in Rexburg (it's only a difference of about $2,000 a year, but because tuition at both schools is already low, it's a relatively big difference). But, there are plenty of indications that student learning is better at BYU-I.<br /><br />Where do you see Westminster in all of this?
